About me

Meh! I didn't get the girl. Maybe I can get you to read to the end.

Welcome to Blaak Museum — Where Soul Gets to Work

Hi, I’m Alexander.

I'm a borderless Flâneur who despises hustle culture in favor of slow living in fast cities.

I love soul, design, casual suits, storytelling, brand building, culture, exploration, communicating, leather jackets and a very mean cocktail. Typically Manhattans.

Check all status quo thinking at the door. Non conventional, curiosity and creativity is required to make sense of this wild world.

I believe in personal journeys to find one’s purpose—however long, weird, or haphazardly traversed they may be. And once it’s found? I believe in living in alignment with it. Not perfectly. But on purpose.

Welcome to mi Casa. A little studio in the corner of the net where I chase curiosities in a attempt to make my personal mission statement proud: living and working with soul.

Blaak Museum is more than a place of curation, work and play. It's my philosophy of life.

There’s this quote I keep coming back to. English philosopher L.P. Jacks once said:

“A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play... He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing.”

I believe the art of living is soulful living. That’s the compass I follow—however cracked or magnetized it gets.

So I split my life into two halves—work and play. Neither side is masterfully balanced, but both are built around soul.

One half explores my philosophy of soulful living by creating things. That’s what Blaak Museum is.

The other half explores that same philosophy by living it out loud—flawed, awkwardly, stylishly, sometimes over budget but never tardy. That lives on a second newsletter called ManyFace.

Let me explain...

🎨 ManyFace is a lifestyle magazine for the modern man who's still figuring it out.

It’s character-driven, drama-filled, and reads like a friend telling you their most ridiculous inner thoughts over 18 year old Yamazaki. Fashion, culture, design, growth—all woven into a story about becoming.

“A magazine with drama and tension?” you ask.

I know. Gutsy. Nerve-wracking. Slightly unhinged. But also—kind of refreshing?

Look, life isn’t a Kinfolk layout. We breath issues, we hide our chipped tooth behind bad lighting, we're trying to cardio-out our back-fat, unresolved issues with our dads, and the occasional insufficient funds notification. ManyFace owns all of it.

🛠️ Blaak Museum, on the other hand, is the workshop.

It’s where I build my creative studio in public—helping indie brands craft soulful work that speaks like jazz, not heavy metal.

Here, I blend my background in marketing and brand storytelling with an unshakable urge to design things—despite having no formal design education, no design mentor, and zero chill.

One day during lockdown I poured myself into Virgil Abloh Youtube videos. The next morning I woke up and said, “I’m going to be a designer.”
That was either bold or delulu. Time will tell. Blaak Museum documents the journey either way.

One more bit

I roam the world (and my own curiosity) hunting for soulful people, places, ideas, style, and design—anything that feels intentional, not just aspirational.

This space is part blueprint, part scrapbook, part soul journal. It’s messy. Scrappy. TMI. It’s honest. It's mine. It’s real.

If you’re into the idea of living and creating with meaning, drop anchor and stay a while.
